Orange County resident Allan Bressler of Pine Bush made his plea in court on Thursday, Oct. 3, said Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler.
At the time of the plea, the District Attorney’s Office said it would recommend Bressler be sentenced to 18 years in state prison, followed by 10 years of post-release supervision.
At the time that he pleaded guilty, Bressler admitted that between March 2008 and February 2013, in the vicinity of his Pine Bush home, he engaged in two or more acts of sexual conduct, which included at least one act of oral sexual contact, with a child, court records show.
District Attorney Hoovler thanked the Orange County Child Abuse Task Force and the New York State Police for their investigation and the arrest of Bressler.
“I commend the Child Abuse Task Force for their work on this case and other cases where the passage of time makes the investigation of sexual abuse against children more difficult,” said Hoovler. “At age 73, this offender may or may not live long enough to complete his sentence, but the children of our community are safer every day that he remains incarcerated.”
Bressler is scheduled to be sentenced next year.
